When making a send, users can adjust the network fee by tapping on the “Fee:” portion of the send screen. Tappable portions of the app are indicated by the mint colored right facing arrow (>).

Fees are presented to users with four available options:

  • High

    • The high fee setting aims to confirm a transaction in the next block. Edge achieves this by referencing the last confirmed block and multiplying that block’s fee by 2.

  • Optimal

    • The optimal fee setting aims to confirm a transaction within the next three blocks. Edge achieves this by referencing the last confirmed block and then adding 30% to prevent the transaction from getting stuck with rapid fee movements.

  • Low

    • The low fee setting aims to confirm within the next six blocks and takes an average of the last two blocks confirmed as the fee used.

  • Custom

    • The custom fee setting allows users to set the fee they would like to use. NOTE: setting too low of a fee can cause stuck transactions or dropped/failed transactions.

Once you select the desired option you can then tap “Done” and then slide to confirm.

*Edge update 3.17.2 adjusted the optimal BTC fee by adding 30%. Users may see higher fees now, with the intention of preventing stuck transactions.
