Monero (XMR) sync issues have been reported. Many users resolve them with the steps below. As with sync issues on any blockchain, your funds remain in your wallet — sync problems usually affect what Edge can display, not whether your XMR is safe.


Before you sync

  • Turn off VPN and Battery Saver / Low Power Mode in your device settings — they can block background data.

  • Use strong Wi‑Fi or cellular and close other data-heavy apps.

  • Update Edge to the latest version from your app store.


Check your XMR wallet settings

  1. Log in and open Assets → tap your XMR wallet. Note the sync status and whether any transactions appear.

  2. Tap (three dots) → Wallet Settings.

  3. Sync mode: prefer LWS (Light Wallet Server). Full Node sync can take a very long time for older XMR wallets.

  4. Tap Asset Settings → set Network Privacy to Standard, not Nym Mixnet. Nym can significantly slow Monero synchronization. See How to use Nym Mixnet.


Resync your XMR wallet

  1. From the XMR asset screen, tap Resync (do not long-press the wallet icon).

  2. Wait on a stable connection. A successful Resync shows a green progress bar and sync indicators on the coin logo.

  3. If needed, force-close Edge and reopen before trying again.


Why sync may look stuck at 0%

Monero sync progress often jumps from 0% to 100% instead of moving smoothly. If it stays at 0%, your device may still be working through private blocks in the background.

Important: When the screen goes dark or Edge is minimized, sync pauses. Set your screen timeout to the maximum, keep Edge open in the foreground, and allow time to complete. After a successful sync, staying in sync is usually easier.

  • Whether Network Privacy is Standard or Nym Mixnet
