Force closing shuts down the app on your device. This is not uninstalling.

Uninstalling or clearing app data should be avoided while troubleshooting — both can lock you out or forget your local account. On Android, clear cache may cause Edge to forget the local account; confirm you know your username and password first (2FA backup is not required for cache alone). Before uninstalling, you need username, password, and a saved 2FA backup code. See Warning: Don't Uninstall Edge Without Your Login Credentials and 2FA Backup.
