If you're having trouble launching your device camera while using Edge Wallet (such as during QR code scanning, WalletConnect, or Sweep Private Key), follow these steps to resolve the issue.
Buy or Sell — selfie or identity verification
If the camera issue appears during Buy or Sell (fiat purchase or sale), the selfie or identity step is run by the ramp partner (MoonPay, Banxa, Simplex, Paybis, etc.) — not by Edge. Edge does not verify users or store partner KYC data.
For partner KYC camera issues:
Confirm Edge Wallet has camera permission (steps below).
On Android, you may try Clear cache only after reading the warning below — do not uninstall Edge for partner KYC.
Retry the same Buy or Sell flow with the same partner.
If it still fails, contact the partner's support with your order ID or receipt — Edge cannot reset or approve partner verification.
General tips
Ensure your device's operating system is up to date.
Force close Edge Wallet and reopen it. See How to force close Edge (Android and iOS).
Update Edge to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
Restart your device if needed.
Before clear cache or reinstall — read this
Clear cache (Android): Clearing Edge's app cache may cause Edge to forget your local account on that device. Before clearing cache, confirm you know your full username and password (PIN or biometrics alone may not work afterward). You do not need your 2FA backup code just to clear cache — only username and password to log back in.
Reinstall: Uninstalling and reinstalling Edge is a last resort only. It can trigger an Authorize Device security wait (minimum 7 days) even on the same phone. Before reinstalling you must have username, password, and Two-Factor Authentication enabled with your backup code saved. See Warning: Don't Uninstall Edge Without Your Login Credentials and 2FA Backup and Edge Security: IP Validation and 2FA.
Never uninstall if you only use a Guest Account (PIN-only, no username/password) — that causes permanent account loss.
