If your transaction with Bity was declined, it may be due to bank restrictions, transaction limits, verification issues, or internal security checks. Here's a quick overview of what might’ve gone wrong and how to fix it:
Common Reasons
-
Payment Issues: Insufficient funds or incorrect bank transfer information
-
Verification Incomplete: ID, bank details, or documentation not fully verified
-
Bank Restrictions: Some banks block or delay crypto-related wire transfers
-
Security Review: Transactions may be auto-declined if flagged as suspicious
-
Transaction Limits: Exceeding Bity’s daily, monthly, or per-transaction limits
Important Limit Notes
-
24-Hour Limit: Bity has a €900 limit every 24 hours. This includes both completed and uncompleted orders. For example:
-
If you complete an order for €400 and another for €500, you’ve hit the limit and must wait 24 hours from the latest order.
-
If you start but don’t complete a €500 order, and then try to place a €600 order, you’ll be blocked because the system still counts the uncompleted €500.
-
-
Order Reset Needed: If uncompleted orders are blocking you, contact Bity to reset your order history tied to your IBAN.
-
High Risk Country: Bity may decline transactions from high-risk countries. To check your IBAN:
-
Use this tool: https://resources.davidcoen.it/highriskchecker/
-
It compares your IBAN's prefix against Bity’s country risk list here: https://data.bity.com/countries/compendium
-
This check does not store your IBAN.
