Firstly when handling your seed phrase or private key, be extra careful to NOT expose these 12 words or the private key to any unknown or insecure (phishing) apps/websites! Safely import with Edge to migrate and consolidate your crypto assets into one, multi-chain, self-custodial wallet and exchange routing tool.
To do this:
- Download Edge here or from your mobile app store.
- Create a new account by choosing a username and a password.
For detailed account creation steps, see this guide: How do I create an account? Note: the last step of creating an Edge account requires a minimum of one new wallet before your Edge account is finally created, and you can begin the import process. You can add or remove wallets in your Edge account at anytime later. - Once you are fully logged into your new account, tap on 'View Assets' near the top, or use the 'Assets' tab near the bottom to view the wallets currently in your account.
- Tap the green "+" symbol near the top, to the right of the word 'Wallets'
- Select all cryptocurrencies that you would like to import, and tap Next
- Tap Import Wallets, to proceed (you may rename these wallets now or later)
- Now, enter your 12 word mnemonic phrase or Private Key with 100% accuracy.
-
Be sure:
- that all words are lowercase and have one space between each word
- there's no extra space at the beginning or end
- private keys can be alpha numeric and case sensitive enter exactly as it was displayed
- to take your time, and review your input for accuracy
- After reviewing your input, Tap Next
- Finally, Tap Next or Migrate.
- NOTE: Migrate is the preferred method as it moves funds from your old seed phrase or key to a newly created wallet. Edge considers this more secure than importing and leaving the funds on the imported key or seed.
