BitcoinSV wallet status: Paused
Firstly, Your funds are safe!
Edge can not synchronize with the BSV blockchain, as the node operator that allowed our implementation of BSV to function smoothly, is offline. We've not yet found a long-term solution for this sync issue and so have indefinitely paused all BSV wallets.
Thanks to decentralization, there are still several working wallet clients that can be used to access your BSV. Edge is a self-custody wallet, which means only YOU are "holding your own keys," which means only you can (recreate) access your cryptocurrency. You may accomplish this by exporting your BSV private seed phrase from Edge into an operational client, following the steps below:
Exporting your BitcoinSV seed from Edge
- Login into Edge
- Tap "Assets" located within the bottom navigation bar
- Hold-down on your BSV wallet and select Get Raw Keys from the options
- Input your Password and safely write down your 24-word seed phrase
- Note if the "coinType" is something other than 236
Now that you have everything needed to access to your coins on the BSV blockchain from any operating wallet client - We have two (2) recommendations for importing your seed phrase and immediately accessing your BSV coins: Simply Cash (for mobile) or ElectrumSV (for desktop)
Importing the wallet into Simply Cash
1. Download Simply Cash to your mobile device (Android or iPhone)
https://simply.cash (note: if you are on Android and have trouble finding this app in the Google PlayStore, the .apk is available for direct download as well on their website)
2. Open up the app and tap on "Wallet" located at the upper left
3. Tap on "Create/recover wallet" and then tap "OK"
4. Name the wallet if you'd like and then enter the 24 word mnemonic phrase. Please input this with all lowercase, one space between each word and no extra space at the end
5. Next, enter the BSV derivation path. This is typically m/44'/236'/0' - unless the wallet was originally for a different coin type, as potentially noted in Step 3 of Exporting your BSV seed, above
For example: If you split a BCH wallet to get initially create this BSV wallet, a derivation path with the BCH coin type (145) would be needed to derive the correct addresses for your coins (m/44'/145'/0')
Note: If any import failure occurs, try adding another /0 to the end: m/44'/236'/0'/0
6. Enter a Password if you'd like (this is not necessary) and then tap "OK" to finish importing the wallet
After a successful import of your BSV assets into Simply Cash, you can then send your BSV to any other BSV wallet address from this app. If you need to trade or sell it, you may still request access to our exchange network. Contact our support team for assistance with this.
Importing the wallet into ElectrumSV
1. Download ElectrumSV to desktop (Windows or a Mac)
https://electrumsv.io/download.html
2. Open up the app and click the Continue button
3. Select the option to Create New Wallet near the bottom
4. Set (and don't forget!) a wallet file name and Password for this wallet; press OK
5. In the top left corner, use the Add Account button
6. Now select the option to "Import from text (any seed phrase)..." and press Continue
7. Enter in your 24-word private seed phrase from Edge, then click on Customize* instead of Done -
*Important Step!!!
(do not click Done ...yet)
8. Next, modify the first 0 to 236, or whichever “coinType” number you found in the Raw Keys file for your BSV wallet in Edge. BSV's derivation path is typically m/44'/236'/0' - unless the wallet was originally for a different coin type.
9. Enter your Password (from Step 4) and click OK to finish importing the wallet
At the bottom of the app, your current BSV balance should appear immediately!* 🎉
*If it doesn't, and you noticed that it doesn't say 'Connected' at the bottom right, then you may need to take one final step to remove a bad server that's preventing ElectrumSV from working properly.
Blocking the Bad ElectrumSV server:
1) Find your BSV wallet directory -
- If on a PC, you can navigate to c:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\ElectrumSV - or - open ElectrumSV and click on 'Wallet', then 'Information' (for Mac; with ElectrumSV open as the active window, use the 'Wallet' button in your top menu bar to get to 'Information')
- In this window, you can see the 'File path' for your wallet. Click on the little folder to the right of it to open its location. Once this folder is opened, quit the ElectrumSV application completely.
Next, return to the wallet directory and open the 'config' file with the default text editor.
2) Block the Bad Server -
Use Ctrl/Cmd+F to search for 'aftrek' -- this is the bad server that we want to block by changing its 'last_blacklisted' value from 0 to 16919763430

Once you are connected to a BSV node, you will immediately see your funds and be able to send them to any valid BSV address. Again, if you would like to utilize our existing exchange network to buy or sell BitcoinSV, please reach out to our support team for instructions.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. If and when we are technically capable of supporting BSV again, the wallet will be unpaused, and we will make an announcement! Be sure to follow our socials and stay tuned in: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram
